This client has three large extended stay hotels in Phoenix that were represented by another firm in prior years. When the client hired Property Tax Advocates on a nationwide basis, PTA immediately assigned the properties to its affiliate in Phoenix.

During the appeal process, the affiliate determined there was an opportunity to have a large portion of the property taxed as apartments due to the length of stay of some of the guests.  This was extremely important since apartments and residences are taxed in Arizona at lower rates than commercial properties.  Not only was the affiliate able to negotiate lower values in the current year, but was able to negotiate reductions in the three prior years resulting in tax savings of approximately $1,250,000 for those years.
